Check out the next special edition for the GMC Hummer EV truck and SUV: the Omega.
It’s been a little while now since the GMC Hummer EV entered the zeitgeist, so the automaker’s back with a new special edition for your consideration. Meet the Omega Edition, a package coming for both the pickup and SUV that make the already over-the-top EV stand out with unique touches and more standard equipment.
To prospective buyers, any special edition is only as good as what you can see, so the GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition sports distinctive Neptune Blue Matte paint. The Omega also blacks out the badges and adds in 18-inch gloss black, beadlock-capable wheels. The SUV naturally gets another wheel (and 27-inch mud-terrain tire to match the other four) on the tailgate and even gets a space-themed graphic on the spare tire carrier. The pickup, for its part, gets the MultiPro tailgate audio system by Kicker.
Inside, the GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition brings in transparent roof panels and “high lux” carpet flooring inserts. Most of the changes come down to aesthetics, except for one: the standard Extreme Off-Road Package. That adds in the 35-inch tires, as well as assist steps, skid plates and useful underbody cameras. Otherwise, the Omega is the same as the EV3X models of the SUV and truck. With the three-motor setup pushing out 1,000 horsepower, EPA estimates peg these off-road models at 329 miles if you get the pickup, or 298 miles if you spring for the SUV.
Either way, don’t expect the Omega Edition to be a bargain. The SUV kicks off at $139,995, while the truck is $10,000 more. There’s another catch, at least at first — GMC is initially offering the Omega only to existing Hummer EV reservation holders.
Deliveries will kick off in the first half of 2024.
