We make another addition to the TFLtruck long-term test pickup truck fleet. We already have a compact pickup – Hyundai Santa Cruz, a full-size truck – Ram 1500, an electric GMC Hummer EV, and a Ram heavy-duty truck. We are missing a midsize truck. We went on a search with a budget of close to $30,000. It was not easy.
AutoTempest.com helped us out with our search in a big way. AutoTempest search aggregated the most popular automotive for-sale listings all in one place. You search once, and you get all the results (including private and auction listings).
A 2019 Ford Ranger XL caught our eye immediately because it’s a crew cab 4×4 with an FX4 off-road package. It shows just over 4,000 miles on the odometer and its price is in the mid $30K range ($34,500 to be exact). Is this price too high for a used midsize truck, or is it just right? We did some research and called our friends at Brighton Ford Colorado (where this truck is listed). Turns out this is indeed a good price that is inline with the current crazy pickup truck market.
Take a look at the video below to see exactly what we bought.
