Toyota of Thailand celebrates 60 years of successful business by showing three pickup truck models. Toyota’s global CEO Akio Toyoda shows two versions of the very popular Toyota Hilux. One of them is a Toyota Hilux Electric concept. The official name of the concept is the Hilux Revo BEV Concept.
You can quickly see that the overall size and form factor of the Hilux BEV concept is basically the same as a current production internal combustion Hilux. There are some differences up front with a unique grille treatment and fascia. There is a charge port on the left-hand side of the vehicle. Toyota did not release detailed specifications for the battery electric Hilux pickup truck.
The company also shows a new IMV-0 electric concept multipurpose pickup truck. This is a commercial work-focused small pickup with a rugged and squared-off appearance. This is also a concept truck, but it may point the way to a production vehicle.
We look forward to learning more about Toyota’s pickup truck electrification strategy. In the meantime, we are focused on the upcoming Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The latest insider news tells us that the next Tacoma will be powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged I4 engine or a Hybrid MAX turbo-electric hybrid powertrain.
Here is the latest unofficial information we have.
