Should the All-New Chevy Montana Compact Pickup Truck Come to the U.S. to Fight the Ford Maverick?

Do we need more compact pickups? Yes or no?

GM is well underway to develop and introduce the next generation of the Chevy Montana compact pickup truck for the Brazilian market. Will it come on sale in the United States in 2023 or 2024? Should Chevrolet bring it to the American market? The Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz are enjoying sales success in the U.S. Why shouldn’t Chevrolet get a piece of this? It may not be as simple as it sounds.

The next-generation Montana prototype you see here appears to be a Chevy Trailblazer sub-compact crossover that appears to be stretched and turned into a small pickup. Let us know in the comment section below what you think about the prototype’s style.

This new Montana promises to have a selection of efficient engines, including small turbocharged power plants. It promises to have interior comfort and a usable bed. This indeed can be a very solid competitor to the Ford Maverick and other small pickups on the market. As the all-new 2023 Chevy Colorado midsize pickup truck increases in size and available technology – there is space in the market for a small pickup.

It makes sense, but the current plan is to build the next-generation Chevy Montana in Brazil for their local market. If Chevrolet can figure out about production facility for the Montana pickup in North America – then it becomes viable to sell it in the U.S. Otherwise, the import/export “chicken tax” may prevent such a pickup from going on sale here.
