It’s time to put the all-new 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 up against a 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor in a 1/4-mile drag race. Indeed, these are high-performance off-road pickup trucks. They also pack a lot of power, and we must see them accelerate side by side!

The new Silverado 1500 ZR2 is powered by a traditional 6.2-liter gas V8 that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 3.23 rear axle ratio. The power rating is 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet did not boost this engine’s power for the ZR2, but the company offers a Borla performance exhaust system that makes this V8 sound glorious!

The 2022 F-150 Raptor continues with a high-output 3.5-liter twin-turbo gas V6 that is also mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Although, the Raptor is using a much more aggressive 4.10 rear axle ratio. The power output is 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. This is all good, but the Raptor weighs significantly more than the ZR2 (by around 300 lbs) and the Raptor is turning larger 35-inch tires that can slow it down. The ZR2 is rolling on 33-inch all-terrain tires.

Spoiler alert: while the ZR2 launches well off the line, the Raptor is no slouch. The Ford quickly begins to pull away and takes the 1/4-mile by a significant margin.
