On a recent episode of TFL Talkin’ Trucks podcast, we discussed missed opportunities that pickup truck manufacturers may want to take advantage of for the U.S. market. A Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen pickup is one of them. Aftermarket company, LeTech / Lennartz-technik.de, produces the Lennson C pickup truck you see here. Should Mercedes-Benz make a production version?

The Lennson C rides on a stretched frame and wheelbase that allows for a sizeable bed. The frame is stretched by nearly 20 inches (500 mm). The suspension is lifted by nearly two inches, and the vehicle retains the latest 4WD system and all of the interior comfort and luxury.

The new Mercedes-Benz G-class G550 SUV starts at $131,750 in the United States. The prices go up quickly from there. The base model is powered by a 4.0L Biturbo V8 with 416 horsepower. Its popularity is growing. Mercedes sold 8,521 G-class SUVs in the United States in 2021. World-wide sales reach over 40,000 SUVs.
