Priced to compete: the 2022 Infiniti QX80 has a starting price of $70,600.

The 2022 Infiniti QX80, which is one of the automaker’s top-selling vehicles, reenters the fray with a host of upgrades. It comes with the venerable 400 horsepower 5.6-liter V-8 that produces 413 lbs-feet of torque. It’s still paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission, and there are no optional powertrains; however, you can get Infiniti’s “All-Mode” four-wheel drive for an additional $3,100. The good news is that includes all grades of the new QX80. The current QX80 starts at $69,150, so there is a base price bump.

The MSRP does not include destination and handling, which is $1,395.

While the platform and powertrain are essentially the same, the interior has received some significant upgrades. The 2022 Infiniti QX80’s now offers a single, 12.3-inch display for infotainment. The QX80 also features wireless Apple CarPlay and USB-based Android Auto compatibility. A wireless smartphone charger is included.

“The new 2022 INFINITI QX80 has even more technology inside, adding to the luxury and remarkable strength it’s known for. The new QX80 takes its place at the top of our SUV lineup that’s growing bolder for 2022 with the all-new QX55 crossover coupe and, in just a few weeks, the completely redesigned QX60 three-row SUV.”

Jeff Pope, group vice president, INFINITI Americas

Nappa leather is standard in all trims, and even the base trim comes with the new display system, and a Bose 13-speaker audio system.
