Here is a close-up look at the latest Rivian R1T prototype truck as caught in the wild near Jackson Hole, Wyoming by Josh Engler. This upcoming all-electric truck is seen in a premium Forest Green color (which costs an additional $1,500) if you are ordering your R1T truck. This prototype appears to be running on 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.

If this is a base R1T configuration, it comes with a 300-mile estimated driving range on a full charge. If you want or need a greater driving range you can also opt for a larger 400-mile battery pack for an additional $10,000. The R1T is equipped with four electric motors (one for each wheel). The motors are mounted inboard and connected to the wheels via drive shafts. Each motor can be controlled independently to deliver power to each wheel. Rivian says it allows for high-performance on-road AWD driving, precise off-road, and bad weather traction as well.

If you were to configure a new R1T truck similar to the way you see here, the retail price for this truck is around $78,300. Rivian says that first customer deliveries of the new truck will begin around June 2021. If you have not each reserved or ordered your Rivian, then deliveries for new orders will likely start around January 2022 (about a year from now).

TFLtruck has not yet had an opportunity to drive and test the new Rivian truck. You can be sure that asked Rivian about getting their new vehicles for video reviews and we will produce them as soon as possible.
