The new 2020 Chevy Silverado HD (and the 2020 GMC Sierra HD) are now available in a full range of configurations, including the two-door work truck.
2020 Chevy Silverado HD
We first drove a new two-door dually turbo-diesel Silverado nearly a year ago at the launch event, but that was a pre-production truck. Now, the HD production is in full swing all configurations can be ordered. The two-door dually diesel also happens to be the trucks with the highest towing capacity of any new GM heavy duty truck which stands at 35,500 lbs (5th-wheel towing rating is 32,000 lbs).
The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD 2500 can two-door is offered in two trims: WT and LT. It’s offered with both powertrain options: 6.6-liter gas V8 with a 6-speed automatic or a 6.6-liter turbo-diesel Duramax V8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive is available for both trims and with both engines.
- 6.6-liter gas V8: 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque
- 6.6-liter diesel V8: 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque
The starting price of the 2020 Chevy HD is $35,695 for a 2500-series WT two door 2WD with the gas engine. The 8-foot long-bed is the only option, but the big “cargo hold” is now 8-feet and 2-inches long.
These trucks can be configured with many options that include convenience and technology packages, and a price of a two-door diesel 4×4 with options can easily reach into the mid-$50,000 range before incentives. It just depends on the capability you need and want.
