Karma Automotive teases this electric pickup truck design at the 2019 LA Auto Show. The company releases some information about the Karma EREV truck, but it is a concept and a design study at this point.

The Karma EREV concept is showing a four-door crew cab truck design with a very short bed in the back. No further specifications are known, but the teaser rendering is hinting at a truck with a tall ride height and very aggressive off-road tires. In other words, this truck could be a size of a current half-ton crew cab, but with a ride height of a heavy duty 4×4 truck.

What Karma is aiming to do is to provide the powertrain, chassis, and the technologies for an extended range truck that could be built by them or by another manufacturer. One way of getting it done would be Karma supplying the “skateboard” battery-laden chassis and the control technology that surrounds it to another major manufacturer. In turn, that other manufacturer can build their vehicle on this shared platform. This is meant to support large vehicles such as full-size trucks and/or SUVs.

This announcement comes just a few hours before the world debut of the Tesla Cybertruck this evening Nov 21, 2019 8pm PST. TFLtruck will be there in person to bring you all the latest news.
