The 2019 Chevy Silverado is available to configure now.

While the brand new Chevy Silverado 1500 has been in dealerships for several weeks, the online configurator just went live. Now, you can see all the retail pricing information for the new truck, as well as spec out your very own. That always gets us thinking: what is the least and most expensive truck I can spec out? It turns out the least expensive 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 comes out to $33,695. The most expensive model, on the other hand, rings up to more than double that, at just over $70,000.

The configurations we made do not account for accessories available from the manufacturer or your Chevy dealer. Depending on what you order, that could end hundreds or even thousands of dollars to the overall price.

Trim levels

The 2019 Chevy Silverado underwent a major redesign, but the new truck carries most of the same trim levels, with a couple notable exceptions. The LS trim is no more in the 2019 Silverado 1500, while the Trail Boss and RST are additions to the lineup.

The base WT (Work Truck) starts off at $32,200 plus a $1,495 destination charge. From there, the range moves up through the Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LTZ, LT Trail Boss and High Country trims. There are five engine options for the 2019 Silverado:

  • 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 with 285 hp, 305 lb-ft torque; 6-speed automatic (WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss)
  • 2.7L Turbo I-4 with 310 hp, 348 lb-ft torque; 8-speed automatic (LT, RST)
  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 with 355 hp, 383 lb-ft torque; 6-speed automatic (WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss)
  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management and 355 hp, 383 lb-ft torque; 8-speed automatic (LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country)
  • 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 with 420 hp; 460 lb-ft torque; 10-speed automatic (LTZ, High Country)

There are two cab configurations and bed lengths for the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The Double Cab is only available with a 79.44-inch box (6.62 feet). The Crew Cab is available with the 79.44-inch standard box, as well as a shorter 69.92-inch box (5.83 feet).

Which is the least expensive Silverado you can build?

The WT trim offers the least expensive way into 2019 Chevy Silverado ownership, kicking off at $33,695. That price buys you a rear-wheel drive Double Cab with the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine. Standard features include Tow/Haul mode with Powertrain Grade Braking, a 3.42 axle ratio, a heavy-duty engine oil cooler and a 170-amp alternator. Despite being the base trim, you still get a 7.0-inch color touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The six-speaker audio system is nothing fancy, but it does offer a USB port and bluetooth connectivity, so it’s not as spartan as you might expect.

Everything in the WT is manually adjustable, from the vinyl seats to the steering column. Cloth seats are available as a no-cost option. Options to consider for companies looking to buy a 2019 Chevy Silverado WT would include the $395 Trailering Package – that includes a 2-inch receiver hitch with Hitch Guidance. $175 also adds the Work Truck Package, which adds skid plates and a high-capacity air filter.

As it stands, without any packages or standalone options, a base 2019 Chevy Silverado WT comes out to $36,695. That’s the least expensive truck you can configure, based on the available options.

What about the most expensive truck?

All right, let’s say you have all the money in the world to spend on a new truck. Lucky you, but how much can you actually spend on a 2019 Chevy Silverado? Naturally, that would involve getting the luxurious High Country trim. Just jumping to this trim from the base WT, even without options, is a $21,000 over the humble entry-level truck.

This time, it’s all about picking every single imaginable option. On top of the 6.2-liter V8 engine – available only on the LTZ and High Country – this truck has four-wheel drive and a Crew Cab configuration with the longer bed.

The 2019 Chevy Silverado High Country is available in seven standard, no-cost exterior colors. However, there are two “Premium” colors, including Cajun Red Tintcoat for $495 and Iridescent Pearl Tintcoat for $995. Naturally, we’ll go for the most expensive paint option here.

Packages galore

There are also seven package options, some of which Chevrolet are currently discounting by $500 (as of October 2018). Right at the top, there’s the $4,185 (as discounted) High Country Premium Package. For all that money, you get several standalone options ticked off the list, from a power sunroof to all-weather floor mats. You also get 22-inch Dark Silver wheels and Chevy’s Safety Package II. Safety Package II – also available as a $745 package, adds Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Low Speed Automatic Brkaing, high beam assist, Following Distance Indicator and Safety Alert Seat.

We’ll also add the $1,625 Technology Package, which includes a rearview camera mirror, an HD Surround Vision 360-degree camera system, a 15-inch Head-Up Display, on top of the standard 8.0-inch color infotainment screen. At this point, adding the $350 Z71 Off-Road Package or the $850 Max Trailering Package actually drives the price down, as it forces you to remove options from the High Country Premium Package.

Standalone options to add on top of the packages include an $1,100 tri-fold tonneau cover (the most expensive option), as well as $135 for a black bowtie badge, $180 for front and rear splash guards, $995 for power-retractable steps and $100 for an engine block heater.

Final tally: Over $70K

All-in, the damage for a 2019 Chevy Silverado High Country is $70,190. Now, bundling by way of the High Country Premium Package does keep that price down a bit. Equipping most of the features of that package as standalone options will technically drive the price higher. Still, spending more than $70,000 for a half-ton pickup may be a tough pill to swallow for some.
