On this week’s episode of “Ask Mr. Truck”, Kent Sundling and Andre answer viewer questions and provide a quick update regarding the 2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 emissions litigation. The case is still in progress and timeline to resolution and settlement are still unknown. However, we do know that the case is being transferred from federal EPA oversight to a California court. Our take on the matter is: if you are waiting for a 2017 model-year Ram EcoDiesel, (at this time) you might be better served to purchase a used EcoDiesel.
Andre and Mr. Truck discuss the differences between gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers and what situations each is best for. The biggest difference between these two trailer types is how they connect to the truck. The gooseneck has a very tight ball-and-socket type connection that allows for a lot of articulation and movement. The fifth-wheel uses a looser connection that is really safe, but doesn’t allow for nearly as much articulation. Each have their pros and cons, but they depend completely on the situation. However, Kent argues that the ball connection on a gooseneck is stronger, and more versatile for different uses.
