Toyota Tacoma – Back To The Future Concept

It’s been 30 years since Marty McFly of the “Back To The Future” movie trilogy introduced us to the 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup truck.

Today, Toyota come back with the Toyota Tacoma Back To The Future concept truck that once again plays a supporting role. This time it’s employed by scientist Mischa Pollack to pickup trash around the iconic locations from the original movies in order to explain hydrogen supply process to Michael J. Fox “Marty” and Christopher Lloyd “Doc”. Mischa Pollack is also an actor, writer, and producer.

Why the hydrogen supply process? It’s to provide fuel for the hydrogen fuel cell powered Toyota Mirai.

Still, the Toyota Tacoma truck is the highlight of the video. The tubular bumpers, the KC lights, the wheels, and the overall image are all spot on as a nod to the 1985 SR5.

Here is all that was added to the 2016 Tacoma for the #BTTF Concept.

  • Custom 1985 Toyota Truck Exterior Paint
  • Off-road Suspension
  • Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Wheels
  • BFGoodrich Tires
  • Custom front and rear Tubular Bumpers
  • Custom Light Bar
  • KC HiLites Gravity LED G46
  • KC HiLites Daylighter Gravity LED
  • Custom “D-4S” Fuel Injection Badging
  • Custom Tailgate with Iconic “TOYOTA” Logo
  • Custom Vintage Headlight and Taillight Design
  • Mud Flaps 1985 Toyota Truck

The question is – should Toyota sell the “Back to the Future” package for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma?  We think so!

Here is a look at the original SR5.

All the details are spot on, expect the original SR5 was wearing Goodyear Wrangler Radials, and the new concept is running on BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires.
