The 2015 State Fair of Texas is now in full swing, and we got a good share of new truck debuts. The 2017 Ford Super Duty, the 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500, and the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 lineups are now fair game for all to see.

However, we are also a bit disappointed about not learning the following new truck specs.

4. 2016 Nissan Titan XD Towing, Payload, MPG, and Price?

The 2016 Titan XD is confirmed to go on sale in December of this year, but the critical pieces of information are still unknown. The XD is aimed to slot just above the light duty 1500 series and the heavy duty 3/4 ton 2500 series pickup trucks. Nissan says that the Titan XD will tow over 12,000 lbs, but several light duty pickups currently on the market are rated at 12,000 lbs of towing. We do not know anything about payload or fuel efficiency of the new 5.0-liter diesel V8. Perhaps the most critical piece of information, the pricing structure is also unknown.

3. Next Generation Honda Ridgeline?

2. Next GM Duramax Diesel Power Ratings?

We have seen GM testing the next generation of the Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD over the last two years. Heavy duty trucks from GM have traditionally been rated lower on power than competitors from Ram and Ford. Will they boost their power rating all the into the lead, or will the Duramax remain conservative on power rating. Will GM boost towing and hauling capability ratings above the others?

1. Will Toyota Use the 5.0L V8 Cummins Turbo-Diesel?

There is a rumor floating around about the Toyota using the 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbo-diesel motor for the next Tundra. We know for a fact, the the Cummins and Nissan do not have an exclusive agreement on the 5.0L V8. Other manufacturers are welcome to use the engine. Will Toyota take a step in this direction and disrupt Nissan’s plans?

Ford did not release any additional specifications about the 2017 Ford Raptor, but their Texas show was all about the 2017 Super Duty.
