Chevrolet updates the entire 2016 Chevy Silverado truck lineup just two years after the introduction of the new truck. Each of the trim levels are differentiated by grille inserts and color schemes. The 2016 model year is highlighted by the LED signature lights and vertical LED fog lights up front. The grille shape and the bumper design are updated as well.

However, the 8-speed automatic transmission can now be matched with the 5.3L V8 with LTZ, LTZ/Z71, and High Country grades. The 8-speed was previously exclusive to the 6.2L engine. This is a welcome addition and should make the Silverado a little more efficient. Chevrolet says that the 5.3L V8 Silverado is rated at 23 MPG on the highway. The 6-speed automatic is the other choice.
