There is something about seeing an old truck in a field. The photos of rusting trucks you see here were taken throughout the great state of Colorado. Two of these photos look like 48-52 Ford “Bonus-built” trucks that started the F-Series run. One old truck looks like it came off a conventional work truck wile the other old truck based on the F-Series is difficult to figure out.
By the way, if I’m off in my years of makes, please correct me below. One thing’s for sure, they appeal to truck folk as art, a museum piece and as a potential project.
The other truck photo is a bit different. It’s an early 50s International dump truck. This photo was shot in south Denver, CO and it’s a working, abused truck. That’s right, this baby is used daily and it’s not babied. Not one bit.
I was seriously tempted to approach the owner and hand him a few bills and taking the poor thing off his hands. Then I remembered Roman Mica just bought the ’68 Ford Bronco AND that we are about to engage in several trucking adventures over the next few years.
In other words, it would sit near my house, in a field and begin to rust.
Maybe one day. Hell, that International may still be doing a daily haul in 20 years. Who knows?
