Ford’s configurator for the 2025 Expedition is now live, with four available trims.
Alongside virtually every other full-size SUV on the market, the fifth-generation Ford Expedition is bringing some huge changes to the mix. With major changes, though, come some major price shifts. We shared back in early October that the new model would start at $63,695 (and that’s still the case), but now we have information across the entire trim walk with the automaker’s updated Build & Price page.
Unlike past generations, we’re looking at a slightly different model lineup this time around. There are no base model XL or XLT versions, with Ford instead deciding to kick the range off with an “essential Expedition” trim called the Active. Beyond that, there’s the Platinum, which effectively sits in the middle of the range where the Limited used to be. At the higher end, you have the new off-road-focused Tremor replacing the Timberline, then a familiar (and expensive) King Ranch topping out the lineup.
Nearly every 2025 Ford Expedition trim can be specified in either its base length or the extended-wheelbase Expedition Max. The only exception to that rule is the Tremor, which is short-wheelbase only, as you’d probably expect.
There’s a $25,000 price delta between the least and most expensive starting MSRPs
The 2025 Ford Expedition starts off about $5,000 higher than the old XLT model. If you’re looking for a less expensive rear-wheel drive option, the Active is also the only Expedition trim that has it — all other models are 4×4 only.
Here’s a full look at how the trim walk shakes out (including SWB and Max models, where available). Pricing includes Ford’s $1,995 destination charge for this year’s Expedition:
2025 Model Year Trim | Expedition SWB MSRP | Expedition Max MSRP | Difference from 2024 (Trim) |
---|---|---|---|
Active | $63,695 – RWD $66,695 – 4×4 | $66,695 – RWD $69,695 – 4×4 | +$4,810 (XLT) |
Platinum | $76,425 | $79,425 | +$5,025 (Limited) |
Tremor | $83,025 | Not available | +$8,335 (Timberline) |
King Ranch | $85,650 | $88,650 | +$5,585 (King Ranch) |
The 2025 Ford Expedition still gets the familiar 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 under the hood. However, you’ll be able to get it in two different flavors depending on which model you choose. A 400 horsepower version with 480 lb-ft of torque comes standard in the base Active, the King Ranch and the Platinum (basically, what did come on the higher-end models is now standard on the lower trims).
A High Output variant with 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque that comes standard on the Tremor and King Ranch, and is available for the Platinum when paired with the $13,570 Ultimate Package or the $6,545 Stealth Performance Package.
2025 Ford Expedition models will be arriving at dealers in the spring.
