If you own a 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, ExtremeTerrain (XT) and Sara Riordan can help you begin to mod your ride.

For many owners of 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks, it’s not easy figuring out exactly where to start modifying and augmenting – right? Next to the Jeep Wrangler, the Toyota Tacoma is one of the most upgraded and modified trucks on the road. With so many aftermarket options, it’s hard to start building up a Taco when you’ve never tried it before.

Fear not! Sara Riordan and ExtremeTerrain (XT) have a slick video presentation that will help many of you with a 2005 –2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks figure things out. ExtremeTerrain (XT) is back with another episode in their “Throttle Out” YouTube video series featuring Sara Riordan and her top five easy mods for your Taco.

“There are tons of options for customizing your Tacoma for all of its on and off-road adventures. So much so, that it can be hard to find a place to start.”

— Sara Riordan

In this video, Sara breaks down her top five upgrades. With each example, she explains the reason for her choice. Here is Sara and XT’s breakdown:

  • First up is a Tacoma leveling kit.  A leveling kit eliminates the factory rake while providing extra clearance for Sara’s next choice, aftermarket wheels, and tires. All-terrain tires are an excellent choice for highway driving and occasional off-road use.
  • Next, swapping out the factory lights for light bar DRL projector headlights gives the front end a whole new look.
  • Finally, side steps and a tri-fold tonneau cover add style and function rounding out Sarah’s top five list of smart starter mods.

Many of these modifications can be accomplished in a weekend, without using a mechanic or specialists. The best part is: these modifications can be altered and augmented by you. Indeed, with a bit of creative ingenuity, you can make these mods (and others) look unique.
