Take a look. A new 2026 INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster 4×4 pickup truck is joining our long-term test fleet. Is it insanely awesome or simply weird. Jen and I take a close look. Let’d dig in!
The INEOS Grenadier is a young brand. The brand was first launched with the Grenadier SUV. The Quartermaster pickup truck is next. It’s been on sale for some time, but it’s now time to put through a battery of real-world tests.
It’s a body-on-frame crew cab midsize pickup truck. It has a 127-inch wheelbase, which is just about 1.5-inches shorter than that of the current Ford Ranger. However, it’s about 5-inches shorter than the best-selling Toyota Tacoma. The Quartermaster has a deep bed that is just over 5-feet long. More importantly, it’s a luxurious pickup truck that offers close to 1,500 lbs of payload capacity.
This pickup has a large frame, solid axles in the front and rear. It has a full-time 4WD system with low-range gearing. It’s ready to go off-road and tackle a variety of terrain. This specific Quartermaster is equipped with locking differentials in the front and the rear. It has a good 10.4 inches of ground clearance. It could have larger all-terrain tires. It currently comes with 31.5-inch diameter BFGoodrich KO2 tires that are mounted on 17-inch wheels. This is a wheel and tire size that is readily available around the world. The INEOS Grenadier vehicles are meant to travel across all countries and continents of the world.
Under the hood is a BMW 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 B58 engine that is rated at 282 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The power number does look that impressive on paper, but the Quartermaster accelerates with confidence with additional help from its gearing.
The Quartermaster is designed to tow up to 7,716 pounds (3,500 kg). This is just 16 pounds higher than most other top-rated midsize pickup trucks (Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Jeep Gladiator).
The Quartermaster does not have a huge interior. The higher roof offers plenty of headroom, but there is not a lot of legroom (especially in the back seat). The interior control are distinctly Grenadier. It’s cool and refreshing. It’s not perfect. The center infotainment screen is often difficult to read due to glare.
Finally we come to the price. The Quartermaster is made in France. It’s imported in the U.S., and it is subject to the Chicken Tax and other tariffs. The price starts at $84,400. The model you see here had a sticker price of just over $101,000. This includes this Devil Red exterior color, premium interior, premium wheels/tires, rock sliders, a front-mounted winch, and much more.
