Ever since Ram reintroduced the Hemi to the standard 2026 trucks, we all knew what was coming.
Mark your calendars for January 1, because something big is coming.
Yes, it’s the start of the new year, of course. And Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis and his team thought that’d be a killer opportunity to hit us with the tagline: “Power Will Be Reborn”. As to what that means exactly…come on, you all know what it means. It means we’re almost certain to get a resurrected Ram 1500 TRX that’s set to take the fight to the Ford F-150 Raptor R once again.
I technically need to say “almost” certain, since Ram isn’t going to just come out and say it right now. You don’t even need to read between the lines, though, because that’s what everyone is expecting. Really, it’s also what Ram needs, because truck buyers want their V8s and broadly consider Stellantis’ former decision to scrap the legendary Hemi from its truck lineup a cataclysmically stupid one.
The automaker’s new CEO, Antonio Filosa, more or less confirmed the TRX’s return during an earnings call this summer. He couched it in more of a “wouldn’t it be great if” kind of way, while mentioning that high-margin V8-powered trucks are where the money’s at for the Ram brand. And if Ram’s statement of 10,000 Hemi orders the moment order books opened up for the 2026 Ram 1500 is any indication, he’s correct.
