The updated 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is here. It’s the first full-size range extended EV you can buy in the U.S. when it goes on sale in 2026. This is the world debut of the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer lineup. Let’s dig in!
The refresh starts with a new front-end design that resembles the all-electric Wagoneer S. These SUVs now proudly wear the Jeep badge on the front. When the modern Grand Wagoneer lineup was first introduce for the 2022 model year, it was meant as a standalone luxury brand. Now, it embraces the Jeep family of SUVs and also aligns with the rest of the brand with standard, Limited, and Summit trim levels. It’s available as a long-wheelbase L version just like before.
The standard powertrain is the 3.0L twin-turbo I6 Hurricane engine. It’s still rated at 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque, and it’s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer pricing starts at $64,730 (including destination charge) for a 2WD version with this Hurricane engine. 4WD will cost you an additional $3,000. This is pretty aggressive pricing for the power and the features you are getting. Yes, you can find a less expensive Chevy Tahoe, but it will have a less powerful engine. The most luxurious Summit Obsidian 4×4 trim starts at $98,985 (including destination charge).

If you wanted to see a 6.4L or a 5.7L HEMI V8 return to the Grand Wagoneer, this is not happening. Also missing the high-output 540 hp Hurricane engine.
If you want to tow a heavier trailer, the Grand Wagoneer is still number one. When you spec it correctly with the 3.92 rear axle ratio and a towing package – it’s rated to tow a class-leading 10,000 lbs.
First Range Extender

Don’t worry. If you want the most powerful and quickest Grand Wagoneer ever, you need to wait a little longer for the Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) version. It’s an AWD powertrain with two electric motors that combine for 647 horsepower and 620 lb-ft. Jeep says the REEV can go 0-60 MPH in about 5 seconds.
The REEV is estimated to go around 500 miles on fill up of electricity and fuel. The all-electric range is rated at around 150 miles. More precise ratings will be announced closer to its 2026 production date.
This is practically the same powertrain as the Ram 1500 Ramcharger/REV system. Since the SUV has a shorter wheelbase than the Ram 1500 – it has a little less space and a smaller gasoline tank. The battery is still the same 92 kWh, but the fuel tank is about seven gallons smaller. It holds up to 20 gallons of fuel. When the electricity goes low, the 3.6L Pentastart V6 generator goes into action. It provides up to 130 kW (173 horsepower) of electricity generation. Since there is always a buffer of energy left in the battery, the acceleration and towing performance of the REEV is never compromised. We do not yet have a maximum tow rating for the REEV Grand Wagoneer.
We also don’t know how much the REEV costs.
The interior of the new Grand Wagoneer is still one of the best in the industry, just take a look at this premium Ruby Red version.

The powerful engines, spacious interior, and high tow rating put the new Grand Wagoneer at the top of full-size body-on-frame SUVs. The new REEV even gives it 8-lug hubs. Is this the new heavy-duty SUV? We will have to test it to find out. It will give any HD Chevy Suburban or Ford Excursion a run for their money.
