The Ram RHO high performance truck has been on sale for a few months. The folks at Hennessey Performance shows us what’s possible with their RHO Mammoth 700 upgrade package. Let’s dig in.
As the name suggests the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six high-output engine has been updated to produce 700 horsepower, instead of the 540 hp that comes from the factory. The factory truck is already pretty quick, but this package adds a considerable amount of power by increasing the boost and fitting a stainless steel exhaust system. The power gains do not affect the driving mode selection, so the drive can change modes just like with any production RHO truck.
The Mammoth 700 package includes an approximately 3-inch suspension lift with a leveling kit. This allows for 37-inch tall all-terrain tires that are mounted on 20-inch wheels. It’s not clear how the suspenson lift affects the stock Bilstein Blackhawk e2 semi-active shocks. We will have to wait and see.
There are custom-built off-road bumpers front and rear. These add to the tough appearance and incorporate off-road lights, as well as the parking sensors. You can opt for some interior appointments as well.
Each Mammoth 700 comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Each truck is dyno tested and driven before the customer takes possession. This package comes at a cost. The RHO Mammoth 700 adds approximately $70,000 to an RHO that starts at $72,190 (after destination). This package nearly doubles the price of the truck.
