Ram Trucks is celebrating an important milestone – the company’s Sterling Heights, Michigan assembly facility (SHAP) has just produced its 2,000,000th Ram 1500 pickup truck. The 2-millionth truck is a 2025 Ram 1500 RHO off-road truck with a towing mirror package.
This celebration also comes just months after the SHAP marked its 40th anniversary as a Stellantis/FCA facility. Tim Kuniskis, the Ram brand CEO, had the following to say. “Handing keys to nearly 2 million Ram 1500 customers takes a strong team as we start an aggressive product cadence for Ram brand.”
This statement hints at the fact that we should see new products or versions of Ram trucks in the near future. What can it be? It is probably related to the introduction of the 2026 Ram 1500 Ramcharger range-extended electric truck and the Ram 1500 REV electric pickup truck. The company recently invested around $235 million in order to enable production of these electrified pickup trucks.
Also, Ram Trucks does not currently offer Ram 1500 regular cab two-door works trucks, or extended cab work trucks. The Ram 1500 Classic pickup truck are no longer being produced. Ford and General Motors have several offerings in this space. If you need a two-door pickup truck from Ram, you can choose a Ram HD 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500, and chassis-cab variants of these heavy-duty pickup trucks.

Will Ram also bring back V8 gasoline engines to their Ram 1500 lineup? Will have to wait and see. There is no official word about this yet.
Stellantis also assembles the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer at the nearby Warren Truck Assembly Plant. These large SUVs are also based on the Ram 1500 body-on-frame architecture. There are also rumors that electrified versions of these full-size SUVs are coming soon as well.
While we wait for more news, here is our first 2025 Ram 1500 RHO road trip from California to Colorado via Moab, Utah. Please join us.
