Video: Will a Tuned Ram TRX Tyrant Beat a Tesla Cybertruck in a Drag Race?

We were surprised.

It’s time to have more fun with quick pickup trucks at a drag strip. We want to put a Cybertruck up against one of our most favorite pickup trucks of all time – the Ram TRX. Let’s go!

We are back in Iowa with Granger Motors and their lineup of Ram TRX Tyrant trucks. We brought our Tesla Cybertruck to put it up against a stock 2024 Ram TRX and a modified Ram TRX Tyrant. These Hellcat V8-powered trucks make between 702 hp to 787 hp.

The Granger Motors team is new Ford and Stellantis vehicle dealer. They are also known to be one of the top sellers of manufacturer extended warranties.

We first learned about the Granger Motors Ram TRX Tyrant modification package about two years ago. Granger teamed up with Nth Moto to create a factory-level performance package for the TRX. They called it the Tyrant. They did the work that was similar to what you would find in the Dodge Demon supercharged V8 engines. They elevated the power level to 787 horsepower and they offer a warranty for it.

First up, we put our Cybertruck AWD dual-motor against a stock Ram TRX. Our Cybertruck has a rating of 600 horsepower, and the stock TRX is rated at 702 horsepower. It is a very hot and humid day in Iowa. We are having fun at the Humboldt County Dragway – which is a fully-prepped drag strip surface. They added a bit of glue for us as well, so the launch pad has a LOT of traction.

The dual-motor Cybertruck won the first set of races against a stock Ram TRX, but it all changed when the Tyrant lined up. Check out the video below for all the 109 MPH 1/4-mile racing fun.
