The base Ford F-150 and Raptor can now get a significant power boost thanks to newly available Ford Performance tunes.
Recently announced at the inaugural Raptor Rally this past weekend, Ford Performance is now offering power upgrades for the Raptor and the Ford F-150 with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. This is big news for folks who felt the difference of power between the Ford F-150 Raptor R, and the V6 Raptor was to vast. In addition, folks who have non-raptor F-150’s with the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 get great news as well.
If you have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine from the 2022-2023 F-150 Raptor and 2021-2023 F-150 truck, you’re in luck. You can order a software calibration tool from Ford Performance Parts – and get a lot more power. The base ’21-’23 Ford F-150 can get a 100 lb-ft (at 2,500 rpm) and peaks with a total of 510 lb-ft (at 3,500 rpm). Horsepower increases 55-ponies (at 3,500 rpm) and maximum output is 450 hp (at 5,250 rpm).
Important to note: no additional alterations in your intake and/or exhaust system are necessary for this tune. This is basically a plug-and-play system, and it’s available for installation from your local dealer.
The 2022-2023 F-150 Raptor gets Ford Performance parts’ boost as well. Torque can be increased by 54 lb-ft (at 2,500 rpm) for a maximum of 554 lb-ft (at 3,250 rpm). You also get a 26 horsepower increase (at 3,250 rpm) all the way up to a maximum of 466 horsepower (at 5,500 rpm).
Ford says the calibration is open to purchase right now through the Ford Performance website. The tune will set you back $825, though you can purchase it using Ford Pass Rewards points. You can purchase the calibration online, then have it installed at your local dealer. Each calibration meets the automaker’s durability standards and is covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty when purchased through the website and installed at a dealer.
