2025 Nissan Frontier
The front gets a couple of mild changes to the grille and the bumper cover. The 2025 Nissan Pro-4X is shown here in its new Afterburn Orange exterior color. The tailgate gets an appliqué that you see on the Pro-4X model. The top of the line off-roader also gets a new wheel design. What do you think? These updates a minor by good looking.
When it comes to substance and capability, the 2025 Frontier gets a bump in towing capacity to 7,150 lbs. This is not class-leading, but it’s significantly more than the current 2024 Tacoma (which is between 6,400 – 6,500 lbs of towing). The 2025 Frontier expands availability of the longer 6-foot bed to more trim levels. If you want a larger bed, you got it! This make a lot of sense since the full-size Nissan Titan pickup truck lineup has been discontinued.
The powertrain remains the same. It’s the 3.8-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Nissan has not mentioned any additional power options. If you were expecting a gas/electric hybrid – it’s not part of this update.
The more significant change is on the inside. There is a new larger 12.3-inch infotainment display. It’s integrated in a landscape orientation and it looks to have high resolution. It offers wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The 360-degree camera views now stay on at higher speed while off-roading to allow for more visibility. However, the size of the camera views appears to be same as before – it does not utilize the entire new screen.
Pricing for the updated 2025 Nissan Frontier is still unknown. Nissan says the 2025 Frontier models will go on sale in the United States by the end of summer. This is just weeks away, so we expect to find pricing soon. The Nissan Frontier has been known to offer really good value, but we expect the 2025 Frontier to maintain this.
