Can you get a good deal on a brand new full-size pickup truck? The short answer is – yes! In this video, I go hunting for the best new truck deals in northern Colorado. I focus on crew cab (four door) 4×4 pickup trucks. Here is what I found. Let’s dig in!
I did a general online search at our local Ford, GM, and Stellantis dealerships. I looked at the lowest priced new 4WD pickup trucks. I go over it in order of price, starting with the highest. Also, I found manufacturer plus dealership discounts at up to $12,000. These discounts make these new pickup trucks a lot more attractive!
I take a look at two Ram 1500 pickups. The first one is a refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn crew cab 4×4 with the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6 Hurricane engine. This truck has a lot of optional equipment. It has a payload rating of just over 1,600 lbs and a tow rating of around 11,500 lbs because of the 3.92 rear axle ration. It’s difficult to find towing ratings for new Ram pickup trucks if you do not have a window sticker that show the rear axle ratio. We will ask Ram about this soon. This truck has the largest discount of around $12,000 of the sticker price.
I also take a look at a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4×4 truck that is nearly identical to the 2025 model if you look at options and equipment, but it has a 5.7L Semi V8 under the hood. It’s about the same price as the 2025 model.
Next up is the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 XL crew cab 4×4. I could not find any Ram 1500 Tradesman crew cabs for sale, but there were several F-150 XL base models available. This truck has a base 2.7L twin-turbo V6 under the hood. This truck is bare bones. The interior is very basic and it does not have a trailer brake controller, although it does have a hitch and 7-pin trailer wiring.
Finally, I found a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 double-cab Custom 4×4. This is the lowest priced full-size four-door truck I was able to find. It has an advertised price of just under $44,000. It has a 2.7L turbocharged I4 TurboMax engine under the hood.
