Take a look, we have the latest information about the upcoming 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, GMC Sierra 1500, and Sierra HD pickup trucks. This information comes to us via a GM Fleet Order Guide public website. There are also some new details about the 2025 Silverado EV and the 2025 Sierra EV. Let’s dig in!
GM is keeping the 2025 pickup truck lineup mostly the same. Naturally, several exterior colors go away and several other color options are added. One of the most important questions we get is: will the next year’s trucks have new engine or transmission options. The answer is largely – no. The full-size half-ton trucks will continue to use the 2.7L Turbomax I4 gas engine, 5.3L V8, 6.2L V8, and the 3.0L Duramax I6 turbo-diesel. All power output numbers remain the same as they are now in 2024. If you were hoping for a more powerful version of the 6.2L V8, it appears that it will not happen in 2025.
One of the most noteworthy changes for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is the introduction of the new HD Trail Boss trim level. The HD engine and transmission options remain the same according to this Order Guide data.
We published an unconfirmed rumor of a larger-displacement 8.3L Duramax V8 turbo-diesel coming to the GM heavy-duty pickup trucks, but we expect something like this new engine to be available later (for 2026 or 2027 model year).
