Toyota and Lexus are recalling approximately 102,000 Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles due to potential machining debris that may be left inside the engines during manufacturing. This affects only the non-hybrid versions of the Tundra and the LX600 with the 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine that were manufactured over the 2022-2023 period.
According to Toyota this manufacturing issue can lead to: “potential engine knocking, engine rough running, engine no start and/or a loss of motive power. A loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.“
This is a voluntary recall by Toyota and the company expects to inform owners of affected vehicles by late July 2024. Once again, this does not included vehicles with In the meantime, you can go to this Toyota page to see if your Tundra is involved in this recall or any other recalls.
TFLtruck used to own a new 2022 Toyota Tundra truck. We put a lot of miles on this truck over the course of a few months. We did not experience any serious problems with our truck. The new 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine is rated at 389 hp @ 5,200 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque @ 2,400 rpm (in the most popular configurations of the Tundra). We did not have any problems with our Tundra engine.
