It finally happened. We just took delivery of our very own new Tesla Cybertruck. It’s 2024 Cybertryck Foundation series dual-motor version. It’s the one Tesla promised to deliver to us between January and March of this year. You told us not to buy, but we didn’t listen.
We almost walked away from our $1,000 non-refundable deposit because Tesla was not communicating to us about the progress of our order. Also, the Foundation Series truck has several “added” features that do not work or are disabled until further notice. These “added” features add $20,000 to the price of the vehicle and bring nearly to no value. The only reason we agreed to the Foundation Series add-on is because Tesla said the vehicle would be delivered sooner (between January – March 2024). We took possession of it on April 29th, 2024.
We paid the sticker price of $99,990 + $1,995 destination fee = $101,985 plus tax.
Why did we purchase it? Well, we focus on new pickup truck reviews and real-world testing. No matter if we like it or not, the Cybertruck is a very significant new pickup truck with many industry innovations. We want to test it and experience it first-hand.
