No more teasers! Here is the world debut of the 2025 Ram RHO. It’s Ram’s newest king of off-road high-performance trucks, but it’s not a Ram TRX replacement. What is it? Is it a budget friendly Ram TRX alternative? Is it a Ford F-150 Raptor killer? Is it a whole different animal? Let’s dig in!
First, what does RHO stand for? Is it an acronym? Ram says – “It is simply a designation for their latest high-performance off-road truck.” One of the inspirations for the name was a charging rhino. RHO can stand for “Ram High Output” or you can come up with your own decoding.
Ram is not completely walking away from the “TRX” brand. The company says the to stay tuned for more news in this space, but they did not provide a timeline. The 2025 Ram RHO appears to be squarely aimed at the new 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor. The RHO is equipped with a high-output twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, so is the F-150 Raptor. The RHO has a wide body with fancy semi-active dampers, so does the Raptor. However, the RHO has 90 horsepower more and costs $8,335 less.
Which truck will be quicker at 0-60 MPH or a 1/4-mile? We will have to test this side by side. The 2025 Ram RHO is 150 pounds lighter than the outgoing TRX, so the RHO’s curb weight is a bit closer to the weight of the aluminum-bodied Raptor. On the flip side, the F-150 Raptor has really strong low-end torque, a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic, and a 4.10 rear axle.
I do not include any GM trucks in this comparison, because GM does not currently build any wide-body high-powered internal combustion off-road trucks. Although, the new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 V8 starts at a similar price ($73,590 including destination).

Would you buy a new Ram RHO or a F-150 Raptor on 35s for $8,335 more? Now, that is a seriously tough question. We must compare these two trucks head to head to learn more.
If you want more technology and luxury features (such as Hands-free driving) in your RHO, you can opt for an optional package that costs $9,995. There are not many other options for the RHO other than exterior colors. This means a fully-optioned 2025 Ram RHO will have a sticker price of around $82,000.
The Ram RHO can be ordered at your local dealer starting now. Ram says the RHO will reach dealerships in Q3 of 2024.
2025 Ram 1500 Rebel X
Ram introduces the Rebel X for the 2025 lineup. It’s a 10th anniversary special edition to celebrate 10 years of the Rebel that came out as a 2015 model in the previous generation of the Ram 1500. The Rebel X has all of the standard Rebel bits: 420 HP standard output 3.0L twin-turbo Hurricane I6 engine, lifted suspension, Bilstein shocks, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, a premium interior, console transmission shifter, and special badging inside and out.
The Rebel X will be available for a limited time, the desert sand exterior color is unique to this anniversary model. The Rebel X will have a starting price of around $71,000 (including destination charges). It means that a well-optioned Ram 1500 Rebel X and a new base version of the Ram RHO will be sold at around the same price.
