Ford recently unveiled the Ford Ranger MS-RT and Ford Transit Custom MS-RT street performance vehicles for sale in Europe. What is this about and should we expect to see the Ranger MS-RT in the United States? Let’s dig in.

MS-RT is a Europe-based motorsports company that has been working with Ford for many years. The two companies field Ford’s entries in the World Rally Championship and other racing series. MS-RT designed and built these two street-performance versions of Ford’s commercial vehicles.

Specifically, the Ranger MS-RT has a distinct front fascia: grille, lower bumper, headlights, and badging. The body kit continues around the sides and to the back. The side skirts visually tie the front to the customized rear bumper that features an air defuser section. The Ranger’s suspension gets a special tune and there is an available 40mm (or 1.57 inch) lowering kit. Intricate 21-inch wheels and performance tires round out the performance updates. The interior also gets special sporty treatment with a chunky steering wheel, supportive seats, and blue accents.

Under the hood of the Ranger MS-RT is Ford’s EcoBlue turbo-diesel that is rated at 240 PS and 600 NM (442 lb-ft) of torque. As you can see this is a vehicle that is focused on the European market. We do not get a turbo-diesel engine in the States, nor do we anticipate getting it.

There is currently no indication the MS-RT brand is coming to the United States production vehicles. However, we are seeing increased interest from U.S. buyers in street-based performance pickup trucks.
