It’s mixed news when it comes to the latest Q3 2023 U.S. sales numbers for midsize and compact pickup trucks. The midsize pickup truck segment took another big hit last quarter. The compact pickup trucks are still making huge gains. Will we see more compact pickup trucks on sale in the near future? It’s possible, but we do not have official news yet. The new Ram Rampage comes to mind as a competitor to the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.

I am expecting the midsize pickup truck sales numbers to recover across the board in the later part of this year and into the next year. The all-new 2024 Ford Ranger and 2024 Toyota Tacoma are coming very soon. Although, the UAW strike has shut down many of the U.S.-based plants that produce midsize pickup trucks.
