Toyota Tacoma and Ford Maverick U.S. Sales Continue to Dominate in August 2023

2023 toyota tacoma ford maverick honda ridgeline august sales report numbers

The August 2023 numbers are in and to nobody’s surprise the current Toyota Tacoma is still leading the chart by a huge margin, and still growing sales when compared to August of last year. The next generation 2024 Tacoma will begin production within the next couple of months, so we may see a dip in overall Tacoma sales due to the factory turnover.

The good news does not extend to the Ford Ranger and the Honda Ridgeline. The 2024 Ford Ranger is starting production about now, so we are still seeing low Ranger sales volume. Hopefully, Ford will be able to regain market share once the next generation of their midsize pickup reaches customers. The Honda Ridgeline August sales dipped down a bit, but their overall 2023 numbers are still significantly up.

General Motors, Nissan, and Jeep have not reported sales numbers for August. Most companies are reporting sales on a quarterly basis.

The Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz compact pickup sales continue to grow for the month of August and overall in 2023. Lots of good news here. Will other manufacturers join this segement in the U.S.? We are still waiting for news in this space.
