There is a new 2024 Ram 1500 (DT) Warlock 4×4 trim. The Ram 1500 Backcountry 4×4 continues. Are these small updates enough to take the fight to the redesigned 2024 Ford F-150 and updated 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 trucks? Let’s take a look.
2024 Ram 1500
If you were hoping for an additional new engine option under the hood of the 2024 Ram 1500, then you will have to wait. Many people want to see the new 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 Hurricane engine under the hood of the Ram full-size truck, but the 2024 model year continues with the same three engine options as now. They are the 3.6L Pentastar V6, the 5.7K Hemi V8, and the 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8 in the TRX.
If it ain’t broke, why fix it?
These engines have the same power output as before. The 3.6L V6 and the 5.7L V8 include Ram’s eTorque mild-hybrid technology. Sorry, if you were hoping for a supercharged “Demon” TRX engine. It is not listed in the current 2024 brochures.
The 2024 Ram 1500 Warlock trim comes to the new generation DT truck lineup. The Warlock is (or was) currently available in the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic (DS) generation. There is no information yet about the 2024 Ram 1500 Classic or the 2024 Ram HD lineup.
2024 Ram 1500 Sport Appearance, Night Edition, Laramie G/T, Rebel G/T, and Limited Longhorn Southfork Editions are continue in full force.
Overall, the 2024 Ram 1500 lineup offers nearly everything a modern full-size pickup truck customer expects. However, the styling of the 2024 trucks remains the same. There is no Ram 1500 “full” Hybrid. There is no mention of a high-watt power export feature. Ram appears to still offer the 400 Watt / 115 Volt power export system.
