Here it is – the production version of the 2025 Ram 1500 EV pickup truck. It makes its world debut at the 2023 New York Auto Show. Ram calls it the “REV”, the aka. Ram Electric Vehicle. The company announces most of the important specifications for us to dissect. You may be surprised by some of this.
First, the size of the Ram 1500 REV is nearly identical to the current 2023 Ram 1500 DT generation pickup truck. It’s a large crew cab with a 5’7” bed. It’s a body-on-frame construction. It’s using a new STLA large electrified chassis. The frame is a bit wider than a traditional Ram 1500 frame. It incorporates and protects the battery modules in the middle of the frame.
The 2025 Ram 1500 REV will be available with two battery options.
- – a smaller 168 kWh battery for 350 miles of estimated range
- – a larger 229 kWh battery for 500 miles of estimated range
Both of these batteries a huge when you compare them to the current EV pickup trucks on sale today. The Ford F-150 Lightning large battery has a 134 kWh capacity, and the GM large battery pack provides about 212 kWh of usable energy.
The truck has two electric motors for AWD/4WD capability and 654 horsepower & 620 lb-ft combined. Ram says that a 4.4-second 0-60 MPH acceleration will be possible.
The REV uses an 800-volt architecture, and it will be able to charge at a maximum fast-charging speed of 350 kW. This matches the charging speed of the current GMC Hummer EV truck. Ram says their REV will be able to replenish around 110 miles of driving range in about 10 minutes.
The 2025 Ram 1500 REV will offer up to 2,700 lbs of payload and 14,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity. These numbers will likely be offered with a more basic Tradesman work-truck version. The truck you see here is a new top-of-the-line Tungsten trim level.
The interior is super luxurious and matches or exceeds anything from luxury automakers from Germany, Japan, Korea, and around the world.
