A new report says the next-generation new 2024 Ford Ranger will go on sale in the United States in the fall of 2023. This is based on an unofficial new Ranger “Job 1” build date of July 10, 2023.

This unofficial report comes to us via Ranger6G Forum. Ford has not confirmed or commented on this timing yet.

Last August 2022, TFLtruck reported that the next-generation Ford Ranger will indeed be a 2024 model year. Now, we have a little more information about when it may actually be coming. “Job 1” term refers to the beginning of production of a new model. This does not mean that you can take delivery of your new truck the next day. The factory has to work for some time, build and check the new model, and then decide when the new vehicles are “OK to Buy”. If the Job 1 date is in July, this translates to new Ford Rangers hitting your local dealers in August or September time frame.

Once again, Ford has not confirmed this. We also do not know exactly what the U.S.-spec Rangers will look like and which powertrain or powertrain options it will offer. We assume the 2024 Ranger will look very similar to the new global Ford Ranger that is already on sale in many parts of the world.

I am guessing that Ford will utilize the latest version of their 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 gasoline engine. This engine’s power will have to be near 300 or 310 horsepower. This is the rating of the new 2023 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Will Ford also offer the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 in the U.S. Ranger Raptor? We will have to wait and see.
