The next-generation Chevy Montana is teased again in Brazil. We have seen camouflaged prototypes of this latest compact pickup truck, but Chevrolet shows a few more details here. This new pickup is coming to the Brazilian market in 2023, but we think GM should also bring it to the United States as an affordable alternative to a compact crossover. What do you think? Ford sold over 9,000 Maverick pickups in October 2022 in the United States. The Maverick is now outselling many compact sedans and some crossovers. The Hyundai Santa Cruz is also gaining popularity. Hyundai sold over 3,000 Santa Cruzes over the same time period in October. So far, the Maverick and the Santa Cruz are unopposed by other competitive models. Toyota, General Motors, Stellantis, and Nissan have no answer in the U.S. market.
The new Montana pickup’s styling looks handsome and rugged. Its success will depend on its powertrain choices and capability. We will have to wait and see if Chevrolet considers bringing the Montana stateside.
