Diesel vs Electric Tug-of-War: Ford F-150 Lightning Takes on the Ram 2500 Cummins in a Nail Biter!

But first, we pitch two F-150s against each other: the Lightning and the PowerBoost hybrid

Let’s put the old guard up against the upstart Ford F-150 Lightning in an all-out tug of war.

As much as you hear that electric trucks are the wave of the future, plenty of folks out there are keen to show that gas and diesel-powered trucks still reign supreme — and will for a long time to come. Whichever side you find yourself on, the TFL team wants to demonstrate the capability of modern hybrid, diesel and electric trucks in some sort of real-world test. Enter a good-old tug of war up at Tumbleweed Ranch.

Okay, we also just wanted to have some fun taking these trucks out and finding out which truck would win because we’re curious to find out. Andre and Roman have a fun time doing just that, and you can see the results below!

As for the contenders, we have a new Ford F-150 PowerBoost hybrid and our Ram 2500 Cummins turbodiesel representing internal combustion. The Ford F-150 Lightning holds the torch for the new era in electric trucks, and the guys pitch hybrid against electricity first. From there, the winner takes on the heavy-duty Ram to see which is the king of the tug of war.

Do you think the Ram 2500 and its 6.7-liter Cummins with 850 lb-ft of torque will fend off the twin-motor F-150 Lightning? Only one way to find out!
