Just look at those beefy exhausts!

Yeah, if you were hoping for the Cadillac Escalade-V to finally emerge from behind GM’s magic curtain, V8 engine wailing…this isn’t that. While the automaker isn’t staging the full reveal just yet, though, we do at least now know exactly when it’s coming: May 11.

Cadillac starts off their statement — and published the teaser video below — enticing us to “hear the roar of luxury“. And if you’re expecting it to be another taste of the hot Escalade’s engine note, you won’t get that. Instead, you’ll get urban music artist Maffio’s “inspired” take on the SUV’s engine note in what are, depending on your tastes, some solid beats.

Fortunately, we have some more concrete information to go on, as Cadillac already teased the Escalade-V back in January. From what we know (or at least have on good authority), the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will take full advantage of GM’s 6.2-liter LT4 V8, in supercharged form. We think it will make somewhere around 650 horsepower, giving it enough muscle to push around some of its luxury rivals. It’s also a last hurrah, of sorts, before Cadillac ditches internal combustion entirely and becomes an all-electric company.

Check out below for a more, um, informative take — as much as teasers can be — on the Escalade-V. Stay tuned for much more information in mid-May!
