A recent report claims to have the starting price for the upcoming new 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2. This GM Authority report puts the starting MSRP for the new ZR2 off-road truck at $65,100 before destination charges. It makes the starting price of the 2022 ZR2 higher than the current 3rd-gen 2021 Ford Raptor which starts at $64,145.

This information is still NOT confirmed by Chevrolet. We are reaching out to the Chevy team for comment.

During the initial Silverado ZR2 debut, the company said that their intention is to offer the ZR2 with many luxurious and top-of-the-line technology features, such as the all-new interior, leather seats, heads-up display, and more. The ZR2 also includes the latest off-road suspension with DSSV Multimatic Spool Valve shocks and front & rear locking differentials.

While we still cannot officially configure the new Silverado 1500 ZR2 – what do you think about this report? Does the ZR2 starting price make sense to you in the current world of high-dollar off-road pickup trucks? Do you think it is a competitive price against other entries such as the F-150 Tremor, Tundra TRD Pro, Ram Rebel, and others?

Also, please keep in mind that Ford has not yet announced the pricing for the 2022 Ford Raptor and the rest of the 2022 F-150 lineup. The 2022 pricing may go up on most pickup trucks across the industry.

Also, consider that GMC already announced the starting price on the upcoming 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X off-road truck that has much of the same new running gear. The 2022 AT4X starting price is $74,995.
