Toyota just dropped the motherload of new electric concept vehicles and showed its vision for the future. The company unveiled seventeen Toyota and Lexus electric concepts. Perhaps, the most interesting new concept is the electric pickup concept you see here. It literally appears to be an electrified Toyota Tacoma with some styling updates. Would you buy an electric Toyota Tacoma? Here are all the details we have so far.

Toyota has always said they see their vehicle future as a combination of gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles. This includes their hydrogen-powered vehicles as well. This latest announcement focuses solely on battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Toyota has not released any specifications about the electric pickup truck, but we know something about their BEV technologies. The company recently unveiled the production 2023 Toyota bZ4X electric crossover. This RAV4-sized crossover is equipped with a 72 kWh lithium-ion battery. The bZ4X has an estimated driving range of 250 miles. Will Toyota go after a similar driving range for the EV truck? We will have to wait and see.

The concept they are showing here appears to be an off-road-worthy TRD Pro version of the electric pickup truck. The concept is rolling on large all-terrain tires. It has recognizable front styling, but the cab, roof, bedsides, and tail lights appear to foreshadow the next generation of the production Toyota Tacoma.
