We recently reported that customers of the new 2022 Nissan Frontier were receiving trucks without a hitch or towing package when it was supposed to come with it.
Here is the latest update directly from Nissan. The hitch and towing package are back!
“Due to an availability issue, some 2022 Frontier SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X models equipped with the Convenience Package were assembled without a tow hitch, and a $495 ‘Tow Hitch Delete’ credit was applied to the suggested price of the vehicle. As of Wednesday, Sep 8, 2021, all further Frontier SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X models equipped with the Convenience Package will include a tow hitch. We apologize for any inconvenience and continue to work to minimize disruption for vehicle deliveries to our dealers and customers. Affected customers may contact their local Nissan retailer for additional information regarding hitch availability.”

As of September 8th, this part shortage issue appears to be resolved.
