What do you get when you combine these legendary brands: Four Wheel Campers, Cummins, Ram, and Norweld beds? You get an ultimate overland camping truck like this. Flatbed truck campers are getting very popular these days because of the extra room they offer. This FourWheelCampers Hawk flatbed camper has an all-aluminum construction and it’s made in California.
This video and article are brought to you by our friends at Four Wheel Campers. This is a truck that they built for demonstration purposes.
It’s a 2021 Ram 3500 HD crew cab 4×4 is equipped with a 6.7-liter Cummins straight-6. This is a long-wheelbase truck that originally came with an 8-foot bed. The factory bed has been removed and replaced with an all-aluminum Norweld flatbed.
The truck has a suspension lift, Bilstein shocks, and 37-inch off-road tires. It’s equipped with Trail Ready bumpers and beadlock-capable wheels. Although the truck has a long wheelbase, the suspension and the tires allow the truck to clear some fairly large obstacles.
The Four Wheel Campers Hawk has loads of space, sleeping for up to four people, two showers (indoor and outdoor), a cassette toilet, a lithium-ion battery system with solar panels, a roof rack, an awning, and more!
Check out the video below to see all the features! We have many more plans for this overland rig. We will be doing a towing test, and a long-distance off-road trip very soon. Please stay tuned.
