Can the new 2021 Ford Bronco survive the world’s toughest towing test – the Ike Gauntlet? We hitch up a 2,400 lbs Boreas XT adventure trailer and go up and down the steepest interstate in the country to 11,158 feet above sea level. We are towing this trailer on an 8-mile stretch and a 7% grade.
We also bring a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser for comparison. While the older FJ Cruiser has a 4.0-liter V6 with 260 hp (just like the current 4Runner) – this Bronco First Edition is packing a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 330 horsepower. This sounds like a lot of power, but this Bronco is rated to tow just 3,240 lbs.
How will they do? Check out the full video to find out!
