Video: 1994 Dodge 2500 vs the SnowPocalypse! How Does the Old Cummins Do?

1994 dodge ram 2500 moose hd turbo diesel cummins project

Kase took his 1994 Dodge 2500, powered by a modified Cummins diesel, into some deep Colorado snow.

A big hunkin’ truck, like Kase’s 1994 Dodge 2500 has some real muscle with the (beefed-up) Cummins turbo-diesel in it. On top of that, the little guy likes using a proper manual transmission. Which, not only serves as a great way to connect to the driving experience, it’s a theft deterrent as well.

There are a few things you should know: Kase is from the South – so, deep snow is “fun” for him. Local Coloradoan’s were irked by the snowfall – which could have been worse. Out-of-town folks were stunned at the depth and beauty of the snow.

Kase saw it as an opportunity to play in the snow, just like Andre did – you can watch that (here). During the video, we get to see his big Dodge Ram push through the snow. In some cases, the snow pushes back – and it’s pretty funny to see.

There are a few things to know here: this is just a brief video that gives you an example of what happened the day after a massive snowfall in the Rocky Mountains. On top of that, we get to see how a big, heavy truck with not-so-great-in-snow off-road tires performs. Also, a reminder that Kase’s 1994 Dodge 2500 has already received extensive modifications, with more to come. Kase is pretty happy with it so far, and it is loud – in a good way.

“Second-gen Rams have fantastic aftermarket support, and the 12-valve Cummins is endlessly tunable. Rather than buy a brand new truck, I decided to build an old one which could put the hurt on much more expensive, modern trucks. From cosmetics to simple repairs, to engine tuning the project has cost just over $20,000 – give or take.”
