Are you still waiting for an off-road Ford truck with a supercharged V8? No need to wait anymore! Our friends at 5 Star Tuning show what is possible with a supercharged 7.3L Godzilla V8 in this Ford Super Duty Tremor. The Tremor is the most off-road worthy Super Duty 4×4 available from the factory. It has a suspension lift, aggressive 35-inch tires, and much more off-road gear. It’s available with either a 7.3L gas V8 or a turbocharged 6.7L diesel V8.
I recently had an opportunity to drive a supercharged Ford F-250 (see video below). The centrifugal Procharger supercharger completely transforms the big 7.3-liter V8 truck. The truck I drove used a very similar supercharger system with an 8 psi pulley. The truck otherwise had stock headers and a stock exhaust system. The estimated power output at the crank is 675 horsepower. You can watch that (blue) truck hit the dyno in the video below.
Of course, 675 horsepower is not enough, so the guys at 5 Star Tuning went back to work. They supercharged the new Tremor SD and also added American Racing headers, MBRP cat-back exhaust system, and customized 93-octane tuning. The result is an estimated crank 715 horsepower! Here is the dyno chart of this latest “Tremor” system.
Yep, this system puts down 622 horsepower and 644 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. Maximum torque is available at 4,650 rpm and maximum horsepower keep climbing to the 5,750 rpm Godzilla redline. This setup offers over 500 lb-ft of torque after 2,750 rpm – so there is plenty of torque throughout the rev range.
