Thank to Glenn at NOCO LINE-X in Loveland, Colorado, we finally completed our 1989 Ford F-350 charity project, Gunsmoke. Since Dave Marrow gave TFL this truck to spiff up and auction for charity, we’ve swapped out the bed, fixed a leaking fuel tank, lifted it, gave it new wheels and Toyo tires, painted it, and added Dave’s hand-crafted rock sliders. All we had left was to cover up the well-used pickup’s bed with a coat of LINE-X to make it last for another 30-plus years.
LINE-X adds value and durability to Gunsmoke, and any truck
We took on project Gunsmoke to raise money for the Mountain States Children’s Home and NOCO LINE-X graciously donated a bedliner installation for the cause. And a good thing, as we believe the spray-in liner will bring in a much higher winning bid than without the fresh coat of bombproof on Gunsmoke’s bed. Plus the liner’s black coat amps up the cool factor of the Gunsmoke’s new battleship gray paint, black rock sliders, and new black wheels. It’s like we planned it this way.
With the truck now complete and its 7.3L diesel engine and manual transmission in solid shape, we have one last test of this old, reliable Ford’s off-road worthiness. After that we’ll clean it up and put it up for auction on BarnFinds.com sometime early next month (September). Stay tuned to TFLclassics on YouTube and TFLtruck.com to find out when the bidding opens.
