Will the next Chevy Silverado 1500 off-road beast (aka. ZRX) have a #supercharged 6.2-liter V8 gas engine? Will this engine also be used in other vehicles such as a high-performance Chevy Tahoe or Cadillac Escalade? We do not know for sure, as this report in unofficial.

We just received an anonymous tip from a source with claimed inside knowledge of GM powertrain development. The source claims that the company is working on a truck/SUV version of a 6.2-liter V8 engine. There is no word on exactly when this engine may come to production or which truck or SUV it will power.
The source specified that the engine may be slated for a high-performance Chevy Tahoe (perhaps a Tahoe SS) and/or the next Silverado 1500 ZRX off-road truck that is meant to go up against the Ford Raptor and the Ram Rebel TRX.
The power output for such an engine is yet unknown, but GM has other versions of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the Camaro ZL1 and the Corvette C7 ZR1 with between 650 – 755 horsepower.
