Fans of the Toyota Tundra may have to wait another whole year for the redesigned truck! Will the next-generation Tundra go on sale this year? The latest report says – No!

An anonymous insider source tells us that a “2022 Toyota Tundra will be coming to your dealership in December 2021“.

We, at TFLtruck, as well as most other outlets have pinned the next Tundra redesign to be a 2021 model year truck that arrives sometime in 2020. This new information suggests that it will come a whole year later than we initially expected.

Most information we have about the next Tundra is not official. There are rumors that the new Tundra will use a twin-turbo 3.5-liter gas V6 engine with and without an electric hybrid system. There are other rumors that suggest the truck will have a coil spring rear suspension, instead of leaf springs.

What we can glean from the prototype truck images is that the front and rear of the truck will be restyled. The rear suspension is obscured by camouflage, and there is a Tundra crew cab with a longer 6.5-foot bed prototype being tested.

The black prototype truck you see in these images were caught testing last year in Colorado.

There is another report that says that the cabs of the new Tundra will also be completely redesigned, so don’t let the older cab on these prototypes fool you.

Here is a closer look at the next-generation Toyota Tundra prototypes.
